Welp...

Halloween is officially over. Now begins the everyday whine that goes something like... "Can I have some candy? But I want breakfast/ lunch/ snack/ dinner/ dessert!! Please... come on... just one... "

YAY. So I took my pictures of the carving... of the finished punkins... of them glowing in the dark.. what did I NOT take pictures of? My kids dressed up. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME? My camera was totally in the car too. Geez

Today is Pumkin Carving Day...

And I WILL TAKE PICTURES THIS YEAR. Why is it that I always forget? I even forgot to take pictures of the finished pumpkins last year... that is just WRONG. Now if I could only find my battery charger for the camera... I know it's here somewhere... hmm

In other news, the hub found out yesterday that he needs his gallbladder out. He hasn't had any sort of surgery or hospitalization since he was a kid. Ok, that isn't entirely true. He had the snip last year but that was a walk out of the office thing. He is nervous and talking to people DOES NOT help. He has heard everything from... "My doctor told me that I had maybe 6 more weeks before it turned gangrene", "I had to be on a liquid diet for 1 week prior and 2 weeks after surgery", "I was out of work for 6 weeks"... and the list goes on. His one GOOD story was told to him last night by a co-worker. He said that his wife had hers out last year and was only out for 4 days. End of story. Phew! He goes to see the dr. on the 9th to find out options and time frame. What a fabulous way to end the year!

In other other news... I feel like scrapping today. I have some Bazzill class kits that I want to put together for display and to sell... think I might do that this afternoon while waiting for the hub to get up so we can carve those punkins!! FUN... have a great Saturday!

I love Fridays!!

Late Nite Fridays are my FAVE! I get to hang out late at the store and chill with the ladies! Work on projects if I need... file, or just peruse the net. Today Around The Block arrived... well part of it anyway.. and it is SO FUN! I can't wait to play with it all! Also, a couple of my overachiever Designers brought back their projects already! WOW! They looked awesome! I am so excited about having a Design Team. That means no more pressure to put up samples... phew! Anyway.. I have to be back at the store in a half hour so Cindy can go home. I have some Bazzill Class Kits I want to put together... should be fun! SEE YA!

Phew... another day done..

And for some reason I am EXHAUSTED. Jarrett didn't feel well today but wanted to go to school. They called me at 10:30 and said he wasn't doing so hot. I was in the middle of my facial and didn't get the call... so he stayed at school and cuddled with his teacher all day. Today was Alea's first day back at school since Monday... she has been out sick. Jason went and got an ultrasound to see if he has gall stones... let's hope he does or doesn't. Not sure which to hope for. I hope he doesn't because surgery is a scary thing... I hope he does, because they can fix that. Ugh.

We had our very first Design Team meeting and I am SO excited to get started! I can't wait to see what the ladies bring in. It is just so nice to not have to stress about making samples... I barely get a chance to scrap at all, and the store DESPERATELY needs samples. This was a relief for all of us!

Tomorrow is a late night and I LOVE late nights! I get to see my regular Friday night ladies and talk and hang out and yeah, work too. Maybe I will start altering some things I have put aside to play with. Who knows! Nite all!

I am kind of freaking out...

Right now there is a lot of stuff piling up. Memory Trend orders are starting to charge and ship, Payroll Tax, State Tax, CHA registration, end of month bills. Yikes. The store is going well, people enjoy it and mostly have fabulous comments. But still I stress a bit. I need to get more people interested and excited about the store. Advertising is not my strong point.

I am also trying to think of inovative things to do.. items to kit up, promotions for the holidays... etc etc. Anyone have any ideas? What would YOU like to see offered?

Crap, I just found out that one of my Christmas gift items won't be shipping until the end of January. This should make me happy since that means it won't CHARGE until then, but this was supposed to make an AWESOME Christmas gift. Crap. Crap. Crap.

So anyway.. I am about to go get my monthly facial pampering session. It is 1 of 2 things I do for myself every month. Facial. Pedicure. I love going, because my esthetician has become such a good friend and we laugh and chat the whole time. You would think that would counter the idea of having a nice relaxing time... but I am so social, I love to chat and hear how my friend's lives are going. Right now she is about 8 months preggers and getting ready to pop. SO exciting!

See ya all later...

I can't wait until 2 weeks from now...

My scrappy girls are going on a retreat. We will head up to the Bailey House for a weekend of eating, chatting, scrapping and bonding. We need it. I need it. I haven't scrapped since.. well since I made the page about my hub's beautiful new car.. and then we all know what happened to THAT.

I am excited. I can't wait to get away to the quiet of this house. I hope to see fall. Never really have seen a true fall season. Here in Sunny Southern CA we don't get much in the way of "seasons". We have Summer and Spring really. LOL. Being up in the mountains with so many trees around, crisp clean air and roaming deer and wild cats (eek!) will be soooo nice. I have stayed in the Rose room that past 2 times we were there. All of the rooms are so quaint and cozy. LOVE IT. Ahhhhh

2 More weeks.

I love to blog.. do do do doooo...

So.. I have been starting this blog out slowly. Two weeks ago I crashed my hub's new car... this week we got the estimate on fixin. $857. Did I mention how absolutely TINY that wall was? But again, when you have plasti-car every little ding and dent and bump costs a fortune. So that's that.

On to better things. As the official Primedia Famous Scrapper's stalker, I have recently found several new victims! It all started with BH. Oh yeah, Becky Higgins. Lynda introduced us to her at HIA years ago and I was verklempt! I stalked her by way of trade shows and email, and she escaped by moving to another state. WhatEVER. LOL. While I sat back and quietly admired BH, my scrapper obsession fizzled and was finally once again re-kindled via the Memory Trends trade show this month. My new best friend Donna Downey was there and SUCH a sweetie. She kidded the hub and we chatted about some very UNscrappy things. LOVE HER WORK AND HER. She rocks. I actually signed up for her class before her books came out.. and when I saw the books I fell IN LOVE with her style and ideas.. it was so very cool to meet her and find her spunky and sassy and so fun to talk to!

Heidi Swapp was another favorite. She took a picture of the hub doing her make n take. Did I mention my hub has tattoos, pierced ears and a fauxhawk? She said it was the next generation of scrappers and I will scream if I see that picture turn up in one of her pages! She cracked me up with her Target comments and laid back style!

I re-found Tara Whitney after I got back and started frequenting the blogs.. and am totally inspired by her story and her photos. Her photography is AMAZING. Totally what I want to do when I grow up... cept I am 2 years older than her and I own a scrapbook store. But that is beside the point. She also looks so fun and cute. I would love to meet her and hope to get the chance one day. Maybe if I lose some weight I will have her do a family photo shoot.. one day right?

The really sad thing? I think that I could TOTALLY hang out with these girls and we would become the best of friends. All of them seem so kick back and fun and funky and that is TOTALLY me. Too bad we all live so far apart... and, well the fact that they will probably avoid me forever more since I have just labeled myself their official stalker... LOL

So I have a problem....

I am an A$$HOLE. My husband just spent 4 days with me and a TON of other women at a Scrapbook trade show. He schlepped the bag around, attended my classes, made new friends, made projects and had a GREAT time. So what do I do? I go and CRASH his brand new, 2 month old car. Backed that baby right into an invisible concrete wall. How STUPID could I be? Pretty darn dumb I tell ya. And what did HE say you might ask? He laughed. Said he was glad I wasn't hurt and accidents happen. HUH?? You aren't even mad?? You aren't going to call me names? I think this makes it that much worse. Of course, he hasn't SEEN the damage yet, maybe he will call me a few names before the night is over.

PS... here is the car BEFORE I jacked it up. Now the seam right behind the gascap is hanging out and below the reflecter is a huge dent and ugly scratches... sniff sniff...
